Techies already have Otronicon on their calendars – do you? This amazing technology event covers all kinds of future scenarios that put on display how we’ll live, work and play in the future, and you can explore it all through simulation and video games. Most of the tech on display is made right in Orlando. St. Patrick’s Day Orlando 2018 - Orlando Homes for Sale

Orlando and the surrounding communities come alive with fun, people and music each St. Patrick’s Day, and this year’s holiday is just around the corner – so how will you celebrate?

Check out these four great events in and around Orlando to plan your holiday.

St. Patrick’s Day Orlando 2018

From parades to block parties, you’ll find something special to do for yourself, your family or your friends on St. Patrick’s Day 2018 in Orlando and its suburbs.

#1: Winter Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Winter Park’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is always a hit. This year – the event’s 40th in a row – the parade begins at the Winter Park Country Club and proceeds down Park Avenue to Lyman Avenue. This event is the only St. Patrick’s Day parade in central Florida, so come prepared for crowds! The whole celebration includes plenty of live Irish music performed by Mike Daly, as well as step dancing at the main stage in Central Park. You’ll also see dance demonstrations by Sarah Costello, Tir Na Greine and the Watters School of Irish Dance.

#2: Raglan Road’s Mighty Festival

Raglan Road’s Mighty Festival, which starts at noon on the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day and doesn’t end until Sunday, March 18, is the biggest Irish music party in the state. A troupe of Irish dancers will perform, there’ll be amazing Irish food (and craft beers and cocktails), as well as an Irish store, face painting and more. Performing at the event:

  • The Young Dubliners
  • Elevation
  • The Maguires
  • The Byrne Brothers
  • Briste
  • The Raglan Roots Coalition
  • Out the Gap
  • Reel Republic
  • The Raglan Road Dancers

#3: St. Patrick’s Day 2018 Block Party in Downtown Orlando

Live Irish music, dance and even leprechauns will be part of the festivities in Downtown Orlando on the 17th. The biggest celebration takes place along Wall Street at the Wall Street Plaza, and you’ll hear music performed by Seven Nations, Audio Exchange, Rosie O’Grady’s Highlanders Pipes & Drums, and DJ Korndogg.

#4: St. Patrick’s Day Block Party in Thornton Park

Bag pipers, live music and plenty of games will be all over the place in Thornton Park. This adult-friendly event includes the Florida Fire Frogs and the Orlando Solar Bears, the Orlando Roller Derby and games, as well as a dunk tank, a massive prize wheel, corn hole and a Tippy Cow photo booth. Local vendors will be out all day, beginning at 12 p.m.

There are dozens of other ways to celebrate St. Patty’s Day 2018 in Orlando, too, so whether you’d like to find a great Irish band performing or you want to take your favorite kids to see a parade, you’ll be able to have a blast all day.
